An issue with the front door latches of the new
2012 Honda CR-V crossover and
2013 Acura ILX compact sedan is forcing
Honda to voluntarily recall over a hundred and seventy,000 vehicles within the us over twenty,000 in Canada.
The Japanese carmaker said that simultaneous operation of the driver's or
passenger's inner door handle and either the manual or power door lock could cause a haul that causes the door to not latch properly and presumably open
unexpectedly.
Honda noted that there are no accidents or injuries associated with this issue to date.
The recall affects 166,000 Honda CR-Vs from the 2012 and half-dozen,200
Acura ILXs from the 2013 within the States, and 20,920 model-year 2012 CR-Vs and around 800 model-year 2013
Acura ILXs in Canada.
The automaker said it'll replace each front door latches and, in some
CR-V vehicles, the inside front door handles also.
The recall is predicted to start out in mid-August 2012.
